Aruna - A Rite of Passage
Temazcal, Sacred Ceremony, Ritual and Somatics
NEW DATES COMING SOON
As part of our individual inner quest for more peace, joy and love in our life, we will journey through this rite of passage together and find ourselves initiated into a new version of ourselves.
Rites of passage mark a ceremonial event, existing in all historically known societies and indigenous cultures, guiding an individual through an important step in their life.
During our time together at Aruna, we want to provide the space for you to reconnect to your most intimate truth and shed the layers of your identity holding you back to walk through this threshold. This sacred space is created as a space of remembrance for the love of our Mother Nature and all living beings.
Ceremonial gathering to celebrate our existence
Share your journey with like-minded humans and feel the healing power of community
This retreat is an honoring of our collective human memory for ceremony & ritual, the interconnectedness of life, the 7 sacred directions and elements that make the tapestry of our existence. We will gather in a circle to remember that we are all part of this human experience, interconnected and equal.
It is a sacred space to explore the depths of your inner landscape and move out of our inner limitations and back into wholeness.
A space to feel in fullness
Tucked away in the beautiful green countryside just about 1,5hr from Berlin, we will ground ourselves firmly rooted to the earth, unplug from our daily lives and rekindle our connection to the natural and unseen worlds.
This is a space to feel in fullness, to let go of old versions of yourself, to make new meaningful connections and celebrate life amongst family.
We take you on a journey of weaving ceremony, ritual and somatics and creative exploration to grow, heal, transform and empower ourselves and one another.
Somatic exploration & integration
We believe in the power of movement and how somatics is a huge indicator to what is going on within our bodies on a physical and mental level. Reconnecting to the language of our body, we expand our capacity for self-healing and expansion. Allowing ourselves to meet with the wisdom of our bodies can be a hugely releasing process where we can begin to let go of stuck energies and old stories and come into the arrival of inner truth and aliveness.
This journey is anchored in an embodied approach to decondition you from being led by the mind to gently bring you back to your heart center and how to truly live from this place in your everyday life.
Temazcal ritual
The Temazcal (or Inipi)l is an archaic rite of passage, part of an old tradition of trance, prayer, health and community of the Native American and Mesoamerican cultures. It consists of a circular covered structure where people sit around a crevice in which hot stones are deposited. As in a sauna, the stones are bathed in herbal-infused water, generating a sweating effect and opening the skin to the healing powers of the medicinal herbs.
The temazcal ritual takes place in the dark and is accompanied by powerful songs, facilitating an intense journey towards ourselves, our resistance and our ability to heal through our own strength. The company of all those present also produces a deep process of community and belonging, which is why it is an excellent ritual to start the retreat, where sweating together with others creates a beautiful synergy that helps us get out of the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The way to facilitate temazcales in our retreat is through love and compassion. It will not be a ritual that is too hard or heavy, but we will guide it in a way that everyone feels the power of this beautiful ritual from a tolerable and kind place, to purify the spirit and take us to a space of ceremony and joint sacredness.
“A quest of any kind is a heroic journey. It is a rite of passage that carries you to an inner place of silence and majesty and encourages you to live life more courageously and genuinely.”

Our Approach
-
Gathering in ritual and ceremony has been an integral part of human existence since the beginning of humanity. Ceremony is our way to remember that we are part of a larger circle, interconnected and whole together.
Rituals guide us through life, providing meaning as we make sense of the world around us, as well as the world within.
For us, this is an intuitive practice that brings us closer to a magical, healing sense of ‘otherness’ or spirit. Francis Weller says it perfectly - "When we cross the threshold and enter into the healing ground of ritual, we are able to pass into a territory that grants us permission to be authentically who we are". He continues - "We need the invisible hands of Spirit to shelter us, to support us, and to offer us the nourishing comfort that comes from the Other World. This concert between the human and the sacred is ancient; it is held in the bones. Trust this bond. It is our healing ground."
-
Prayer is our way to connect inward and establish a connection to the divine. Stepping into our power as creator beings and creating magnetism and communion with the great mystery.
Rituals guide us through life, providing meaning as we make sense of the world around us, as well as the world within.
We will create sacred space together as a family, remembering what it is to be human upon this earth, connected to the vastness within and without.
-
It is in community that we are seen and heard fully, where we learn from those around us and exchange stories that connect us to people and places. Our gatherings are curated to nourish this innate need for belonging and honest acceptance so that we can remember what it is to be supported and empowered by those around us. We want to revive the power that is held in these deeply ancestral, indigenous relationships with life, creating containers that inspire real connection and lifelong friendships.
-
Reconnecting to the language of the body helps us expand our capacity for self-healing and flow in our lives. We believe in the power of movement and stillness. Following our body wisdom, we will guide you through a journey of expansivity, oneness, and acceptance. Our approach is intuitive, weaving different styles of yoga and intuitive movement including tantra, vinyasa, yin, restorative and kundalini. We embrace a deeply embodied practice, which is not about forcing the body into any shape but tapping into our innate needs and sensations.

Integration has been shown to be one of the most important processes of a ritual and ceremonial journey. The integration processes are carried out through expressing and sharing the thoughts and feelings that we have experienced along the ceremonial process, either through creative tools or circles of words.
In Aruna, integration is carried out through circles of word and expression of our vulnerability under the protection of the tribal sphere, using tools of compassionate inquiry and active sharing. No process will remain unattended. At the end of our retreat, we want you to be able to bring your well-integrated and well-carved experience to your own life, to put what you have learned into practice.
Our integration dynamics will also include a process of relaxation and enjoyment at the end of our retreat, where we have a sauna and jacuzzi to calm down and laugh after the exploratory days, so that you can share your experiences and thoughts in an environment of fellowship and friendship.
